About the Artist

Thomas Chang is a LA and Malibu based filmmaker and photographer. As an LA native and Korean-American filmmaker, he aims to celebrate diverse storytelling that grapples with relevant and timely topics. These stories are multicultural, multi-faceted, and speak to the humanity of all people. Some of Thomas’ biggest influences are Wong Kar Wai, Lee Isaac Chung, Spike Jonez, and Greig Fraser.

In the process of getting his Bachelor’s Degree in Screen Arts, Thomas has been able to develop skills in multiple facets of the industry, working as a DIrector, Cinematographer, Gaffer, and Grip. This also led him to NewsWaves 32, Pepperdine’s student-run, award winning broadcast news program, where he served as Technical Director, Show Director, and Creative Director, earning the 2026 Associated collegiate press best of show staff award for a broadcast news program.
